I am a self-taught photographer and anthropologist. I am originally from St. Louis, USA, I studied in Geneva, Switzerland, and I am currently based in Belfast. My photography is highly influenced by my academic work in anthropology, and so my images often focus on people, material culture, and details of everyday life. Often I'll combine the two disciplines to produce visual ethnography.

My grandmother, portrait artist Sallie Day Mogerman, gave me an art-filled childhood, from pastels to the potter's wheel. With her unwavering encouragement, I won my first photography contest at age eleven.

Photography is my primary medium of creative expression. I also write, and I am beginning to play with filmmaking. I recently wrote and filmed a spoken word poem about sexual assault. It is accessible on my Vimeo page.
